Budva is a very small city on the Adriatic coast of Montenegro. It only has inhabitants in winter! But it receives more than a million tourists in summer. The nature surrounding it is very nice, with the reconstructed old town and nearby Sveti Stevan sites providing some cool historic spots to visit, but it doesnt have the historical charm that nearby Kotor does.
Budva is a poorly planned beach town, and is more known for being a crowdy beach destination than a scenic one. Avala Hotel: Big modern hotel right on the steps of Old town, with a very nice looking pool. Astoria Hotel: Very nice boutique hotel in Old Town with its own semi private beach but no pool. Great terrace as well. Hotel Budva: Charming hotel on the promenade of Slovenska beach and close to old town.
Nice terrace for chilling and people watching. Airbnb: There are a number of good suitable apartments there. Contact me if you need specific recommendations for places I already stayed in. Outdoor bars and clubs that are open until 1 am, and clubs that stay open until later am. El Mundo: Outdoor bar on the wall of old town thats busy from 10 pm-1 am.
Lots of tables lined up but fills up quickly. Popular with everyone. Jef Bar: Great bar in old town, very small and gets very hot and packed but plays great music. Nice thing here is that tables are common so often waiters will join various groups of guys and girls together on a table.
Greco bar: Bar right next to jef. If you are solo the staff will stick you in the back, while the sexy girls all sit on the tables in front. But if you get a good spot its a great place to meet hotties. Medovina: Best kept secret in Budva. The only bar that stays open after 1 am. Is kinda empty before that, but fills up quickly after. They all play incredibly loud local or international music, and partygoers are packed into adjacent tables while the music is blasted in typical balkan fashion, so be prepared for that.
