The mother of Arthur drops me off at a spot that will bring me straight over the border. It doesn't take long for the first car to pull over. But it's a taxi driver.. I tell him I'm sorry but I don't have money, he speaks Spanish and tells me it's no problem, he needs to go across the border anyway. I get in and when I explain him my project, he even buys me some water and cookies for on the road. For the next one I have to wait a little longer.
Until a truck pulls over with two drivers. I jump in and straight away they set the right tone. They play some Latin music and they try to speak slow Spanish so I'm able to understand them.
However, they're kind of scared if I would carry any drugs, since the police control here is very high, that's what scares most of the drivers to take hitchhikers. I assure them I don't have anything, I'm always very careful with my backpack so nobody can put anything in without my knowledge. They ask me about my travels and think I'm crazy. But of course you think the same! They get some sort of cheesebread on the way and give me two! When they drop me off I continue my hitchhiking. After not even 15min the same truck passes me again!
Haha, they pull over and they will bring me halfway, they tell me they will stop once and a while for their cargo, but I don't mind. I feel comfortable and that's all that matters. They drop me off in Posadas, where I find a ride with a lovely old man who takes me to route 14 instead of 12, the one I was.
Route 14 is one leading straight to Buenos Aires, passing Uruguaiana which is in Brazil at the border. When I'm on the road trying to catch a ride straight to Uruguaiana, a truck pulls over.
